WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

Welcome to the Jungle is a very vibrant digital print collection. It explores the relationship between complementary colors. Below are the final designs and potential end uses demonstrated by texture mapping.

Procreate was used to create the motifs. They were then transferred into NEDGraphics to create the designs. Lastly, they were printed on a HP Latex 335 Digital Printer to learn how the color changes once it gets printed onto fabric. Adobe PhotoShop was used for texture mapping.

HORIZON THREADS

Horizon Threads is a Patagonia inspired weaving collection. This collection was an exploration into geometric styles.

Below are the final designs, texture maps, and the EAT DesignScope Victor.

All designs were created on NEDGraphics. The final designs were brought into EAT DesignScope Victor to create the weaving simulation. This collection was woven on an Electronic Jacquard Head Loom: 54” Dornier Rigid Rapier with Staubli JC5. The texture maps were done on Adobe PhotoShop.

STITCHED BY THE SEA

Stitched by the Sea is inspired by land and sea motifs of Portugal. Because this collection was knitted, this was an exploration of simpler designs.

The patterns were created on NEDGraphics. They were then printed on a Shima Seiki 14 Gauge NSVR. Adobe Illustrator was used to do the technical flats.

NURTURE & NATURE

Nurture & Nature is a group collection made by Kylie Hansell and co designers Sam Walden, Sydney Whitman, and Nicole Repko.

Our mission for this collection was "To provide wearable, but elevated clothing and accessories for working moms.”

Our goal with our collection was to create comfortable, quality, and stylish clothing and accessories for 40-50 year old working moms.

The motifs were created on Procreate. They were then placed into NEDGraphics to create the patterns. Finally, they were texture mapped on Adobe PhotoShop.

POWERFUL PRINTS

Powerful Prints is a print collection that shows the versatility of textile prints and learning new styles.

Below are three prints that Kylie chose to base this collection on.

After picking out the prints, she replicated them to learn the different styles. Once she was familiar with the different styles, Kylie replicated the prints but changed the motifs into a hibiscus flower, a pumpkin, and a chicken.
