SEWING PROJECTS
Below you will find more about Coral Coast Collection, Trapped, The Charcuterie Collection, and Mustard Muse.
Coral Coast Collection
Coral Coast Collection is a Y2K beachwear collection Kylie created with co-designers Emily Cribbs and Violet Royal. Recycled materials were highly utilized in this collection.
The goal was to explore all different types of beachwear. Emily Cribbs dove into casual beachwear. Violet Royal explored swimsuit and resort-style wear. Kylie Hansell experimented with elegant nightwear and accessories.

Trapped
Trapped is a half-scale cape inspired by a sarcophagus. The cape was crafted by hand using recycled fabrics, embroidery thread, and fabric paint markets. Exploration into appliqué, embroidery, and surface design was a key aspect in this project.

The Charcuterie Collection
The Charcuterie Collection is a fun, playful collection of stuffed animals. This was an inclass project where students picked their collaborators and animal in a lottery. They were then asked to create a cohesive collection of stuffed animals with a matching storybook comic about their adventure together.
Kylie worked along with Elyssa Taylor, Nathan Guicheteau, and Madina Tahirli on this project.
From left to right, the monjon wallaby by Madina, the elephant shrew by Nathan, the buffleheaded duck by Kylie, and the pallas cat by Elyssa.

Mustard Muse
Mustard Muse is an original pattern crafted and sewn by Kylie.
It is a resort-wear linen top with ruffles and ties on the side.
This piece was featured at the Wilson College of Textiles.
